Three state prison inmates will be spending additional time behind bars after pleading guilty in 106th District Court this past week to committing felony offenses inside the Smith Unit here. A seven-year sentence was assessed to Genaro Tamayo, age 25, who pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony charge of prohibited substance in a correctional facility. Tamayo had been indicted earlier this year on the charge alleging he was in possession of a controlled substance known as fluoro-ADB while confined in the Smith Unit in April of 2018.
