SNYDER – In March, City of Snyder Animal Control received three calls regarding dogs killing skunks. All three skunks tested positive for rabies, but none of the dogs were vaccinated and each was required to quarantine for 90 days. Had they been vaccinated, their quarantine time would have been only 45 days. Officials from Snyder’s animal control and police departments advise residents to keep their pets vaccinated against rabies to prevent an outbreak.
