In the wake of a May 24 school shooting in Uvalde that claimed the lives of 19 students and two teachers, Lamesa school officials are looking at installing additional safety measures to better protect its 1,600 students and more than 300 staff members.Lamesa school Superintendent Jim Knight presented board members with an expensive plan Thursday to install coverings on exterior windows to protect school facilities from being breached by an intruder.The item was on the agenda only as an information item.
