Lamesa school board members approved a change to the 2020-2021 school calendar and handled a variety of other business during their regular meeting Tuesday evening. The change in the school calendar will mainly affect teachers, Superintendent Jim Knight said, but will ad a half-day of extra classes for students at the end of the school year. That half-day, which is before graduation, originally was scheduled as a teacher workday. But the school is exchanging that workday for an additional day during the summer in which teachers can receive training.
