Construction work began on a new roof for the Dawson County Public Library this past Monday. The library plans to remain open during the construction. Library Director Debbie Garza said the library had “major leaks” due to the poor state of its roof so it was time to get a new one. The new roof was sponsored by the Weaver Foundation through a grant to the City of Lamesa. Garza said the foundation “graciously agreed” to fund the project.
