The lake at Lamesa Boys and Girls Club Park was filled to overflowing by thunderstorms that moved into the area after midnight Friday, dropping a total of 2.8 inches of rain in Lamesa through Sunday, according to the West Texas Mesonet website. That rain total was more than one and a half times the amount of rain that had been received locally since Jan. 1.
