Ortiz making re-election bid

Sylvia Ortiz is hoping her experience will lead voters to re-elect her to another term as Dawson County Tax Assessor-Collector. Ortiz filed Friday as a candidate in the Republican primary for re-election to a third term in office. Ortiz has no less than 42 years of experience in that office, having started in September of 1977 while Leland Miller was the Tax Assessor-Collector.
