Midland-based Maverick Operating has received a permit from the Texas Railroad Commission for an oil well re-entry operation at the Woodul No. 501 about three miles northeast of Lamesa. The permit, issued on June 10, calls for work to be carried out to a depth of 11,300 feet. The well is located about one-third of a mile south of FM 825 and about a mile east of U.S. Highway 87.
