ANDREWS – Monetary savings involved with the county’s new $28-million jail/sheriff’s office facility are now being realized after inmates who were previously transferred to other counties have come back, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said. Those savings-which will be substantial-are experienced through not housing inmates at other counties, which was standard practice for years after the former jail facility was stretched past capacity.
