Lamesa school board members accepted a bidder’s price for new stadium bleachers and committed $600,000 donated from the Weaver Foundation to help cover cover stadium improvements. That action came during the board’s regular meeting Tuesday evening. The board accepted Southern Bleachers’ bid of $1.3 million for building the homeside bleachers at the football game. The visitor bleacher seating is in good condition and does not require replacement. Including the cost to add an elevator to the bleachers, the total cost for the stadium is a little over $2 million.
