Legislation, school funding and new uniforms for the band, as well as other topics, were addressed by the Lamesa ISD board members at their regular meeting this past Thursday. The board approved new uniforms for the school’s band and new lockers for the junior high band. Superintendent Jim Knight said the band’s current uniforms are about six years old. Those uniforms were intended to be used in the short term and were not “high dollar” uniforms, he said. The current uniforms often need to be repaired after contests. Board members authorized the ordering of 200 uniforms. There are about 130 students in band,
