When COVID-19 hit last spring, the estimated 40 local youngsters being homeschooled felt few alterations resulting from the invading virus. It did have a major impact on more than 1,000 Lamesa Independent School District students. They were sent home last March to quarantine. They did not return to the classroom until August. Since homeschooled students were already home, the major change to their schedule due to coronavirus was scheduling their every Tuesday in-person classes at Crestview Baptist Church to an online forum.
