A Lamesa woman remained hospitalized in Lubbock Friday morning after being seriously injured in an auto-pedestrian accident here Wednesday morning. Amber Gavin, age 54, was transported by ambulance directly from the scene to meet a medical helicopter at a location between Lamesa and Lubbock. Lamesa Police Chief Josh Peterson said the accident happened about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of N. 4th Street (Seminole Highway) and Bryan Avenue. “She (Gavin) was on Bryan Street just north of the intersection, in the northbound lane, apparently crossing the street,” Peterson said Wednesday.
