Lamesa’s Riggins wins title in state BPA competition

Lamesa High School junior Michaela Riggins will be advancing to national competition after winning top honors in Business Professionals of America (BPA) state competition last week in Dallas. Riggins won first place in Extemporaneous Speech and will be going on to compete in that event at the 2020 National Leadership Conference scheduled for May 6-10 in Washington, D.C. The award by Riggins was one of several earned as a total of 31 LHS students competed in individual and team events at the state contest, according to BPA sponsor Lisa Telchik.
