A horizontal oil drilling operation is planned for a site about 14 miles northwest of Lamesa. Steadfast Oil & Gas of Midland has received a permit from the Texas Railroad Commission to drill what is being dubbed as the No. 37H Changes in Latitude. The well is scheduled for a total depth of 5,000 feet and will extend 6,034 feet horizontally from the surface location.
