Representatives of Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) will be in Lamesa to offer a free legal clinic for low-income residents. That clinic will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at First United Methodist Church in Lamesa. Free legal help will be offered on civil matters only, including family law, SNAP/TANF/CHIPS, employment issues, wills and end-of-life documents, home ownership, landlord-tenant issues, Social Security, consumer matters and IRS issues. The legal aid representatives cannot help with traffic tickets, criminal matters, or person injury cases, and applicants must meet income guidelines to get free help.
