Doris Gass, first grade teacher at O’Donnell Elementary School, recently received the Mrs. Baird’s Teachers on the Rise award on Friday, Feb. 8. One of Gass’s former students, Bryson, sent in an essay about why she deserved to be the January Teacher on the Rise. Bryson and his mom wrote the paper one day after Gass spent her conference period helping him subtract three digit numbers in his second grade class room.
