Fires damage structures

Employees were able to escape a Lamesa business without serious injury after a fire broke out in a utility and electronics room late Tuesday afternoon. Western Finance, located at 1014 N. Dallas Ave., was heavily damaged in the fire which was reported about 5:30 p.m. At one point flames were coming out the edge of the roof at the northwest corner of the brick structure, according to Lamesa Fire Chief Larry Duyck.
