The Chicken Fried Steak Festival just isn’t a party without a cook-off to see who can come up with the best recipe for the native dish. The festival’s cook-off has only drawn four entrants so far, but organizers hope more will join the activity. In past festivals the cook-off has attracted 10 to 12 contestants for monetary awards. The cook-off starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at Forrest Park.
