Earthquake rocks area

On Wednesday April 10, 2024, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred 13 miles northwest of Stanton,TX was felt all the way up to Lamesa and the surrounding area. The earthquake occurred at 1:46 p.m.
Many people thought that some kind of accident happened. Ashley Friesen, owner of McCalls said "I thought a car hit the store or something exploded." Many people reported vehicles shaking and items falling. Kalija Beck said "Everything in the house shook!"
According to United States Geological Survey, it was four-and-a-half miles deep.
