With the start of classes for the new school year just a few weeks away, the Dawson school system in Welch has a variety of activities scheduled beginning this coming week. Kindergarten Round Up will be held at the school from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this coming Thursday, July 29. On Aug. 2 and 3, the school will be hosting Jump Start from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. each day. That gives children in pre-kindergarten through second grade an opportunity to become acquainted with the classrooms they will be in this school year.
