COVID rate near 10 percent here

Dawson County’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is nearing 10 percent of the county’s total population. The South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD) is reporting that, as of Tuesday, a total of 1,221 Dawson County residents have been confirmed with the virus since the first case here was reported in March. The latest estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show Dawson County with an estimated population of 12,728. SPPHD figures show that 318 of those confirmed cases are still considered active, with 889 local residents having recovered from the virus.
