COVID-19 case tally now 1,429

As “The Year of COVID” was nearing its end, the total case count among Dawson County residents stood at 1,422. That’s according to information posted on the South Plains Public Health District’s website as of the end of day this past Wednesday, Dec. 30, with one day remaining in 2020. That number represents an increase of seven from the previous day. It also means about 12 percent of all residents of Dawson County have now had confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the first case here was reported last March. A total of 130 local residents had active cases of the virus as of Wednesday,
