County rebates down; city revenue increases

Dawson County continues to experience lower monthly sales tax reimbursements from the Texas Comptroller’s Office in Austin. Lamesa and three other area municipalities, however, are not among area cities experiencing lower sales tax allocations. A report from the comptroller’s office this past week shows Lamesa enjoyed increases to both its monthly and year-to-date sales tax rebates. The city’s recent rebate, totalling $130,898, is 2.36 percent more than $127,879 received by the city in April 2020.
