Lamesa City Council members on Tuesday ordered the demolition of six dilapidated and dangerous buildings in Lamesa but postponed action for the third time on another structure. Getting another reprieve until at least next month was a building at 105 S. Boston Ave. owned by Lillian McAlister. That building initially was targeted for possible demolition by the city last July but the council granted a sixmonth reprieve after Harden Jenkins, the caretaker of the property, asked for time to repair the building and possibly even create a small museum in recognition of the late Lamesa educator Lee McAlister.
