Conceding that in all likelihood U.S. Highway 87 eventually will become an extension of Interstate 27 from Lubbock to Laredo, Lamesa City Council members approved a resolution on Tuesday evening in support of that Interstate designation as requested by the Ports-to-Plains Alliance. “With the governor passing House Bill 1079 (to conduct a comprehensive study of the Ports-to-Plains Corridor),” Mayor Josh Stevens said, “it’s time for the city to get fully on board so we can have a voice in the matter.” Council member Bobby G.
