The Lamesa Police Department is getting a little bigger and the city’s staff will see one of their own promoted from part-time work into a full-time schedule as a result of action by the Lamesa City Council on Tuesday evening. Council members agreed to hire two new police officers to focus on drug and gang-related crimes. They also approved moving an employee up to full-time status to work on finances and grant applications.
