Except for the fireworks display, all Independence Day festivities planned by the Lamesa Area of Chamber have been cancelled. Word about the cancellation came on Friday, one day after Gov. Greg Abbott issued an order limiting certain activities as part of the state’s effort to contain a resurgence of COVID-19 in Texas.
