The 2020 Census currently underway will provide an official count of the U.S. population, but annual estimates offer an ongoing look at population trends between decennial counts. This past Thursday, the U.S. Census Bureau released its latest population estimates for cities and towns across the nation. Those estimates indicate Dawson County’s population increased the first time in several year. The latest figures, for July of 2019, place Dawson County’s population at an estimated 12,728 people.
