BROWNFIELD – During the last Brownfield Independent School District (BISD) Board of Trustees meeting, Melissa Oliva introduced the Teacher Incentive Allotment spending plan and explained how it works. The program is state run and BISD recently sent in their application to participate in the program. The program gives extra funding to teachers who are designated as recognized, exemplary and master. When a teacher is given one of the three designations, they will also earn an incentive amount for being recognized with $7,300-$7,800, exemplary with $14,600-$15,700; and master with a payment of $26,400-$28,000.
