Groundbreaking scheduled for new high school construction BROWNFIELD – Brownfield ISD has announced there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Brownfield High School on Jan. 21 at 4 PM. In the May 2019 local election, Brownfield voters approved – by a margin of 651to 432 – a $40 million bond issue to build a new high school and fund other projects. The classroom section of the current middle school will be demolished and cleared out. BISD plans to keep the gymnasiums, auditorium, and kitchen/cafeteria and make upgrades to those areas.
