Billings collect Gaines County’s first bale of cotton for 2019 SEMINOLE – Come quitting time Monday, Gaines County had its first certified bale of cotton at the gin for 2019. Shortly after 5 p.m., Monday, Seminole Chamber of Commerce board member Kurt Brown certified a bale of cotton as the first of the crop year harvested in Gaines County. The bale was grown on the farm of Duwane and Bonnie Billings about one mile south of Seagraves and had its 3,560-pound weight certified at JV Peanut Company.
