Commissioners decide against implementing county burn ban ANDREWS – The commissioners court on Tuesday considered authorizing an order for a local burn ban, but in the end decided against it. Precinct 4 Commissioner Jim Waldrop wanted the court to look into the possibility. Andrews County Fire Marshal Mike Cook told commissioners conditions are presently dry, but the county’s drought index number—which was at around 505 last week—actually decreased some on Tuesday.
