Two separate requests related to the proposed construction of a three-story apartment complex and townhomes in northwestern Lamesa were approved on first readings by the Lamesa City Council on Tuesday evening. Council members will consider a second and final reading of those ordinances at a future meeting. A request by Ronald Smith of Austin to annex some property that he owns into the city limits as land zoned R-3 (multi-family) was approved as presented on its first reading.
