ANDREWS – The spring fire season doesn’t begin until the end of next month, but the potential exists for a severe season like 2011, according to Andrews County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Cook. Cook on Tuesday morning recommended a county burn ban that was approved by the commissioners court. The 90-day order prohibiting outdoor burning runs through early April, which is why Cook recommended it in early January. It will span much of the spring fire season.
