Four 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicles have been delivered for the Lamesa Police Department and are awaiting the completion of all paperwork, registration and final programming of radio equipment before they will be put into service within the next week or so, according to City Manager Shawna D. Burkhart. Chief of Police Dale E. Alwan Jr. said officers also currently are being trained in the use of body cams (cameras) since the new patrol units are equipped with that technology. The purchase of two of the new patrol units and emergency equipment was budgeted by the City of Lamesa,
