Thanks to Lamesa’s community meal, over 300 individuals were served a free lunch on Thanksgiving day. About 75 to 100 individuals were served at the Lamesa High School cafeteria on Thursday. Additionally, event organizer Alice Ortegon said volunteers delivered around 200 meals around the community. Ortegon said she hopes the event will serve more individuals next year. She said she could use a few more volunteers to help organize the event next year and keep track of the deliveries.
