Welch resident Garry Miller was diagnosed with a lung disease called pulmonary fibrosis three years ago, but his condition worsened around six months ago. Garry currently is residing at Welcome to Baylor Scott & White Health, where he is awaiting a lung transplant. According to the Mayo Clinic website, pulmonary fibrosis occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly.
