Two Lamesa residents were killed on Sunday afternoon when their vehicle rear-ended a stopped 18-wheel tractor-trailer on State Highway 349 north of Midland. Roger L. King, 58, and Wendy L. Caban, 53, were pronounced dead at the scene by Martin County Justice of the Peace Nancy Bradshaw, according to information provided by Highway Patrol Sergeant Oscar Villarreal with the Department of Public Safety in Midland. King was driving a 2006 Chevrolet pickup northbound along Highway 349, the accident report said, and Caban was a passenger.
