Gerald Parsons, pastor of Sunset Baptist Church in Lamesa, received recognition from the Baptist Missionary Association of America for his “Legacy of Hope” in ministry. Parsons was nominated by members of his congregation to receive the honor. As a teenager, Parsons was saved and baptized into the congregation of the former Bryan Street Baptist Church.
