Alice Ortegon is still looking for volunteers to assist with the annual community effort to serve hot meals to hungry Lamesa residents on Thanksgiving day. The annual event is for the homeless, residents of nursing homes, elderly, or anyone else who won’t be able to have a traditional Thanksgiving lunch with their families. Having started in 2011, the event is being held at the Lamesa High School cafeteria for the third straight year.
