A passion for cooking that was handed down from his mother has led Matthew Hernandez to open his own bakery in Lamesa. Matthew is the owner and head baker at Lucy’s Flour Shop. He is getting help from his brother, Lenard, to make his dream come true. They already have opened the bakery, located at 316 N. Austin Ave., but plan to have a grand opening on March 25.
