Marielena Oviedo and Samuel Esequiel “Zeke” Zapata, both of Midland, have announced their engagement and approaching marriage.The bride-elect is the daughter of Manuel M. Oviedo of Grand Prairie and the late Maria M. Oviedo. She is the granddaughter of Ezequiel and Leonor Oviedo of Grand Prairie and the late Jose L. Gutierrez and Magdalena M. Gutierrez of Leon Guanajuato, Mexico.A 2013 graduate of South Grand Prairie High School, Marielena earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas - Permian Basin in 2019.
