Nora Ortiz Juarez recently was recognized by the Howard College Board of Trustees as the “Making Dreams Real” student from the college’s Lamesa campus. Juarez is a single mother who worked a full-time job while obtaining her degree from Howard College. A 1980 graduate of Lamesa High School, she obtained an Associate of Science degree from Howard College in 2015. That degree came some 34 years after Juarez took her first college course, typing, at Howard College in 1981.
