Downtown Strategies team meet for city walking tour

TAHOKA – A walking tour in the downtown area of Tahoka is not an unusual sight, but it’s just what a group of more than a dozen people did last Wednesday morning, walking from the Tahoka Life Enrichment Center on Main Street to the square around the Lynn County Courthouse, looking at current businesses and vacant buildings, and imagining what the realm of possibilities could be.

PCG advocates for extension of USDA’s WHIP+ program

The 2020-2021 crop year will be remembered for years to come as the global economy experienced one of the most prolific and unprecedented pandemics in history coupled with adverse weather conditions related to drought, hurricanes, high winds, derechos, and a polar vortex to name a few across the U.S. This week, Plains Cotton Growers (PCG), traveled to Washington, D.C. and met with key Congressional leaders to advocate for the extension of the WHIP+ program to address recent natural disasters our region and the U.S. have incurred.

MEETING SPIDERMAN

Youngsters got a surprise visit from Spiderman Thursday at United Supermarket. During their visit, youngsters enjoyed coloring pictures for a contest. The action hero will be visiting the store from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. for the next three Thursdays. Once all the coloring pages are done, winners will be selected based upon age groups and will be awarded $25 gift cards. LPR photo
