With just one week remaining before Christmas, the Dawson County Public Library is hosting artistic activities, drawings for gifts and fundraisers benefiting local organizations.
The library has recently received the following memorial donations:
_ On Dec. 23, 1672, Italian astronomer, mathematician and engineer Giovanni Domenico Cassini discovered Rhea (originally christened Sidera Lodoicea), the second-largest of Saturn’s 62 moons. In 2010, a spacecraft named for Cassini would detect a thin oxygen atmosphere around it -- the first such known outside planet Earth.
Funeral service for Selah Marie Mendieta, 15, of O’Donnell, Texas, will be held, Monday, December 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at O’Donnell High School Gym with Shane Russell officiating.
The celebration of life service for Jadyn Taylor Boyd, 18, of Lamesa, Texas will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
Michael “Mike” S. Webb, 56, of Big Spring, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Graveside services were held at 3:00 pm, Friday, December 9, 2022 at Ackerly Cemetery.
A memorial service for Maria Luna, 68, of Lubbock, Texas, was held Wednesday, December 15, 2022, with Kendall Meek officiating.
