It’s that time of year. Out with the old, in with the new. It would be an understatement to say that I welcome the new. It would be more of an understatement that I still mourn the old. But I’m getting there.
The Texas Department of Transportation has kicked off its statewide “Drive Sober. No Regrets” drunk driving prevention program for the holidays. Throughout the month, TxDOT has released videos of people who deal with the daily consequences of driving while impaired, either as an offender or survivor.
One thing we “geezers and geezerettes” have in common is that the lot of us have said something or done “bone-headed” things that disappointed our mothers. We’ve all participated in pranks that have gone south, causing our mothers to shake their heads in disbelief.
I walk around my neighborhood later in the evening these days, mostly so I can see the lights.
