Following a public hearing without any input Thursday evening, Dawson school board members approved both a new budget and tax rate for the school in Welch. The new tax rate of $1.06835 per $100 property value for the 2019-2020 school year is down from a rate of $1.17 per $100 this past year. Superintendent Layne Sheets said the new budget for the 2019-2020 school year is slightly higher than last year’s budget.
