Confessions of a potluck failure

Due to last-minute computer issues, Jill Pertler was unable to provide a new column this week. This is a “classic” column originally published in 2011. The term “potluck” was coined over 500 years ago, putting a label on the concept of a communal meal where each guest brings a dish to share.
