    A Catholic Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Emily Marie Tijerina age 19 of Lamesa, TX., at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Sylvester Dsouz officiating. The burial will follow at the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    The viewing will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Friday, January 5, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Friday night Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Emily Marie passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, in Lamesa, TX. She was born on May 12, 2004, in Lubbock, TX.
    Emily Marie was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Elida Cortez Guicoza, and Rosa Garza Tijerina.
Emily Marie loved cats, sports, dancing, cooking, and always making everyone laugh. She enjoyed time with family and had an unforgettable smile that would light up the room. Emily Marie loved everyone!
    Emily Marie is survived by her father, Carlos Raul Tijerina, Jr., and her mother, Nancy Rosario Tijerina,
and her brothers, Elijah Seth Tijerina, Luca Ocean Tijerina, and her sister, Evelyn Nicole Tijerina, all of
Lamesa, TX.; her stepmother, Sara Garza of Lamesa, TX.; her niece, Legacy Tijerina of Lamesa, TX.; her
grandfather, Carlos Raul Tijerina, Sr. of Lamesa, TX.; and numerous relatives and friends.
